Preventative Health Practices for Young Children in Childcare
This course is designed to meet the Title 22 licensing requirements and the California Child Development Permit as per AB243. It includes instruction in the recognition, management, and prevention of infectious diseases, including immunizations, and prevention of childhood injuries. It also includes instruction in emergency preparedness and evacuation, caring for children with special needs, and identification and reporting of signs and symptoms of child abuse as well as numerous hours of instruction in nutrition training. Three State of California certificates are earned during this course: 6 Rights of Medication Administration, Child Abuse Mandated Reporting, and Integrated Pest Control. As cardiopulmonary resuscitation and pediatric first aid is required to be updated periodically, it is not provided within the contents of this course.
