Exploring E-Learning Development Tools
A required course in the E-Learning Instructional Design Certificate Program.
In this course, students will explore various industry-standard tools for developing asynchronous eLearning. Students will analyze each tool’s features and functionality, measure these against its usability, interactivity, assessment options, and cost, and determine which tool will best support the content provided to them. Tools demonstrated may include Articulate Storyline 360 and Rise 360, Adobe Captivate, TechSmith Camtasia, Canva, and Vyond. Throughout this course, students will evaluate and compare the pros and cons of selecting eLearning development tools, evaluate a piece of content, choose the most appropriate tool, and develop content in their chosen tool. This course allows participants to explore various eLearning tools and decide on one main development tool they will use for their final project. Each tool will be introduced at an introductory level through online demonstrations and explanations.
