Public Speaking for Nonnative Speakers

Students will work to master effective presentation skills, impromptu speaking, discussion and negotiation strategies, as they explore organization, clarity, pronunciation, vocabulary, effective transitioning, note preparation, use of visual aids, non-verbal communication, eye contact, and appropriate formal speech patterns for a variety of situations. Students will also learn how to use language effectively for expressing opinions, being persuasive, hypothesizing, making assumptions, and drawing conclusions.
