UCI Division of Continuing Education Adds Four New Courses to Certificate Program in Internet Marketing

New Curriculum Provides Tools to Implement Effective Online Marketing Strategies

IRVINE, Calif. – May 19, 2011 – University of California, Irvine Extension today announced the addition of four new courses to its fully online “Internet Marketing Certificate Program.” The courses, now available for student registration, is designed to help business professionals plan and implement successful, cost-effective Internet marketing strategies to achieve business goals. From social media to online analytics and search engine marketing tactics, courses aim at fully leveraging the Internet to acquire, convert and retain online customers.

“UC Irvine Extension is fortunate to work with the industry’s leading professionals in developing the most up-to-date curriculum in the field of internet marketing,” said Melanie Mitchell, assistant director of business, management, and legal programs at UC Irvine Extension. “These new courses add to the incredible depth of the Internet Marketing Certificate Program and will allow course participants the opportunity to gain first-hand industry specific tools for success.”

New Courses for Summer Quarter

Online Analytics and Measurement (July 11-Sept. 4): Explore principles that are key to fully understanding the performance of website, social media campaigns, mobile applications and many other online marketing investments.

Site Optimization and Personalization (July 11-Sept. 4): Provide marketers and business professionals an overview of methods, technologies and strategies for improving the performance of websites and other online properties.

Display Advertising (July 11-Sept. 9): Learn the basics of creating, planning and buying effective display advertising, but also explore emerging platforms such as social media display, mobile and digital outdoor.

Online Video Marketing (July 18-Aug. 28): Explore the future of online video by addressing compelling content, engagement interactivity, integrated analytics and guaranteed audiences.

Free Webinar Series: Internet Marketing

Offered in collaboration with the Internet Marketing Association (IMA), a series of Internet Marketing webinars will discuss the importance of the course topics and provide quick, actionable internet marketing tips for business professionals. UC Irvine Extension’s Internet Marketing Certificate Program includes six required courses and electives, totaling a minimum of five units, in which students must attain a grade of “C” or better, for a minimum of 160 hours of instruction. The program is supported by the Internet Marketing Association, which recognizes it as a premier provider of online marketing continuing education.
