  • Al-Ghandour, Dr. Majed N.
  • Dr. Majed Al-Ghandour has taught for Wake Technical Community College and NCSU for over 22 years. He has a PhD in Engineering from NC State University. . Majed teaches Data Analytics for MBA Graduates as a Visiting Lecturer for NCSU using Data Warehouse, Cloud Computing and Security, Tableau, and SAS Visual Analytics. Majed also teaches with the Corporate & Business Solutions of Wake Technical Community College and helped in professional training giant RTP corporates in Java (Fidelity), Minitab (Catalent), SharePoint (Wep Clinical), and Advanced Python (DELL).His teaches Microsoft .NET and Open Source technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, Responsive Design, JavaScript, ASP.NET, SQL Server, C#, XML Web Services, Java, C++, PHP, MySQL, jQuery, Ajax, SharePoint, Drupal, WordPress, Python, R, SAS programming, Tableau, SAS Visual Analytics, SharePoint, Cloud Application Development, and Mobile App Development. Majed is a Professional Engineer and has earned his Microsoft MCP, MCSD and MCT, Novell CCNA, and SAS Certified. Majed earned Certification of Accomplishment in Teaching from NC State University and epic online Teaching Certificate.

  • Asztalos, Stephen John
  • Stephen Asztalos received his doctorate in Nuclear Engineering from UC Berkeley in 1998. Prior to matriculating, he spent six years as a consultant to the nuclear power industry. After receiving his Ph.D., Steve spent 15+ years as a research scientist in various industrial, governmental and academic settings. He is a coauthor of more than 120 publications in areas that include: astrophysics, particle, and nuclear physics. His core expertise is in grant writing and computer modeling. In 2012 Steve founded Academically Speaking, in which he assists applicants in the graduate school admissions process, and since 2016 has served as chair of the IECA Graduate School Committee. Since 2008 he has held the title of Adjunct Professor of Physics at California State University, East Bay. His current research interests are in stellar evolution and black hole accretion phenomena.

  • Erin Avery, CEP, is an independent educational consultant who transitioned into private practice after teaching and working in higher education administration and in boarding schools as a chaplain and theology and religious studies instructor. Active on board committees of the IECA, and an innovator in new technologies in education, Ms. Avery is also a graduate of Oxford, Yale, Boston College, and the UCI DCE Independent Educational Consultant Certificate Program.

  • Barany, Deborah
  • Deborah Barany, Ph.D., will tell you that the hidden pathway to becoming a stronger learner is math. In fact, Dr. Barany, or Debby as her students know her, sees the successful math student as a helpful example to the struggling learner--because in order to grasp mathematics fully, one must practice the unarticulated skills of learning, unleash creativity, and apply grit. Debby’s story as an educator began with mathematics, and she ultimately gained her Master's Degree in education from the University of California, Los Angeles. But it was her fascination with the science of learning that led her to the Stanford Graduate School of Education, where she completed her doctorate in Adolescent Cognitive Development.

  • Jimmy Baratta, J.D. is an esports entrepreneur. Through his consultancy group, FT Empire, Jimmy has worked with some of the biggest names in gaming and entertainment. Jimmy is a strategic advisor and shareholder for XSET. He serves on the advisory board for Reuters syndicated news outlet The Esportz Network. He also consults for Fallen Media and A.I. software developer Wizard Labs. Additionally, alongside seed investors from FaZe Clan, Jimmy founded a nonprofit esports league: The North American Collegiate League. His past projects have included: FaZe Clan, Razer, GameStop, Chief Keef, YBN Nahmir, and more. Prior to working in gaming, Jimmy was a practicing attorney for over 7 years.

  • Tyler Barrett, Ph.D., Second Language Teaching, is an instructor of English as a Second Language at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Barrett has been teaching and training ESL/EFL instructors for over 10 years. He has taught English in public schools in Japan, and online M.Ed courses and undergraduate courses at the University of Calgary. Dr. Barrett is an editor of Asian EFL Journal and The Journal of English as an International Language. He has published in academic journals that include Pedagogy, Culture, & Society, Language Policy, International Journal of the Sociology of Language, and The Journal of English as an International Language and he is the co-editor of the books Critical Inquiries in the Sociolinguistics of Globalization and Transcultural Flows of English and Education in Asian Contexts.

  • Adam Baugh, M.S., is a Program Operations Manager at Esports Engine, a turnkey esports solutions company founded by former Major League Gaming (MLG) execs. Using his 8 years of experience in the esports industry, he contributes to creating best-in-class experiences for esports fans and partners around the world. Prior to joining Esports Engine, he worked at NYXL (the owners and operators of the NY Excelsior in the Overwatch League, the New York Subliners in the Call of Duty League, and NYFU, New York's Valorant team), Tespa, Blizzard Entertainment, and Esports Heaven. His career journey has seen him work in a variety of areas, including marketing, social media, events, community management, on-camera talent work, product development, and content creation. He also co-founded Rutgers Esports, the student-led collegiate esports organization at Rutgers University, the State University of New Jersey.

She is affiliated with the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and has served as IECA President and President of the IECA Foundation which provides educational opportunities for underserved youth. Throughout her career, she has led sessions at conferences, taught at training sessions, and held workshops on counseling-related issues. In 2018, she was honored to receive the Steven R. Antonoff Award for Professional Achievement given to the consultant who has contributed the most to developing the profession of Independent Educational Consulting. In all her work, Judy emphasizes the importance of effective communication.   • Delen, Dursun
  • Dr. Dursun Delen is the holder of Spears Endowed Chair in Business Administration, Patterson Family Endowed Chair in Business Analytics, Director of Research for the Center for Health Systems Innovation, and Regents Professor of Management Science and Information Systems in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University (OSU). Dr. Delen has over 30 years of experience in analytics and data science both as a business consultant and university professor. Prior to his academic tenure, he worked for a privately-owned research and consultancy company as a research scientist for five years, during which he led a number of decision support, information systems and advanced analytics related research projects funded by federal agencies including DoD, NASA, NIST and DoE. Dr. Delen has published more than 150 peer-reviewed articles and 11 books/textbooks. He is often invited to national and international conferences for keynote addresses, and companies for consultancy engagements on topics related to business analytics, data science, data/text mining, and knowledge management. He regularly serves as chair for tracks and minitracks at various business analytics and information systems conferences. Currently, he is serving on more than a dozen journal editorial boards as editor-in-chief, senior editor, associate editor, and editorial board member. He is the recipient of several research and teaching awards including the prestigious Fulbright scholar, regents distinguished teacher and researcher, and Big Data mentor awards.

  • Dempsey , Jason Scott
  • Jason S. Dempsey, CEM, CBCP, retired from the Marine Corps as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Officer before serving with the City of Los Angeles in emergency management. Currently he is the Emergency Services Administrator for the City of Costa Mesa, California. While serving at the federal government level, he directly participated in the response to numerous real-world crises ranging from humanitarian emergencies, to mass casualty events in the aftermath of terrorism. At the local government level his response has ranged from wildfires and mudslides to aircraft incidents. His expertise includes all phases of emergency management as well as business continuity and homeland security. Jason has a Master’s Degree in Homeland Security from Pennsylvania State University and a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Southern California.

  • Janet DiVincenzo, M.A., CPTD, PMP, has been an instructional designer and a project manager for over 20 years. Janet has been an instructional designer in the Division of Teaching Excellence and Innovation at the University of California, Irvine since 2008. In this capacity, she coaches and assists faculty in creating their online, flipped, and hybrid classes and also consults on pedagogy. Prior to UCI, Janet worked in many organizations as an instructional designer, corporate trainer, and project manager, leading teams to develop technology and training solutions. Janet has produced e-learning for many organizations, dating back to pre-Internet days.

  • Kristina L. Dooley, CEP, is the founder of Estrela Consulting, an Ohio-based independent educational consulting firm. Kristina has 20+ years of experience working with students from around the world navigating the complex college and school search processes. A first-generation college student, she is a graduate of Hiram College (B.A.) and Kent State University (M.A.). In addition to her work with students, Kristina serves on the Boards of IECA and the IECA Foundation, and is a faculty member of the IECA Summer Training Institute for aspiring educational consultants.

  • Dupuy, Roger William
  • Roger Dupuy, M.A. Linguistics, has been teaching ESL/Teacher-Training full-time for 26 years at the university level. He has taught English and trained teachers in eight countries around the world. He regularly delivers workshops for TESOL and CATESOL. Internationally, he has delivered teacher-training workshops in Japan, Taiwan and in South Korea. He received the UCI Extension Distinguished Instructor Award in 2004. Roger likes to write. He is an author of two teacher-training books and has also published a cool little chapter role-playing games and ESL/EFL. Currently, he is involved in the design, and teaching of UC Irvine's Division of Continuing Education's teacher-training programs. The content of these programs cover English language teacher training (ESL/EFL), English-meditated Instruction (EMI), and educational technology training. Mr. Dupuy has been the principal curriculum designer for English teacher-training program for both the Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education, and Japan's national Ministry of Education. Roger has passion for the narrative arts, curriculum design, content delivery, game design, and emerging technologies. He loves to draw while listening and teaching. He likes to take pictures, create music, and is working on a new novel.

Prior to that, she served in a variety of technical marketing management positions for several Southern California high-tech businesses, ranging from an electronic design automation software manufacturer, to an access control manufacturer to a high-end storage company. Eventually leaving high-tech for media, she started in the industry when print publications began transitioning into digital platforms.   • Susan Zielan is a Business Resiliency Program Manager for CoreLogic in Irvine, California. She is responsible for the development and implementation of enterprise-wide business continuity and Emergency Management plans and manages training and exercises for the offices across the US and Australia. She has led efforts internationally in Europe, South America, Asia and Australia to create and customize effective business continuity, disaster recovery and emergency management programs for larger corporations. Susan is a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) and the Membership Director of the Association of Contingency Planners, Orange County Chapter.

Prior to this she was the principal at Las Flores Homes Education Independent Study Academy. She has more than 20 years of experience in the field of education as an administrator, teacher and instructional coach. Tamara’s expertise includes Language Arts and English Language Development for which she has written a variety of curricula and professional development materials. In 2009, Tamara earned the title of LA County Teacher of the Year.
