THE 1930’S: FROM THE DEPRESSION TO THE GOLDEN AGE OF HOLLYWOOD
Format B/C
The 1930’s were a time of exceptional unrest. With the Great Depression, tent cities were abundant, massive unemployment was a way of life, and political turmoil was seen throughout the U.S. and Europe. Yet, in the midst of this, great music, art, and literature blossomed. With the Golden Age of Hollywood, we’ll hear the music of Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, and George Gershwin, and enjoy the dancing feet of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. The amazing art and literature of this period will also be explored.
