What to Tweet

If you want to use Twitter as a business communication networking tool, you want your Tweets to show who you are and what you can do.  Here is an example:

“See my latest blog post on job boards and network privacy at tinyurlxxx.xxx.”

This is clearly tweeted by someone who offers useful information and highlights their expertise. Don’t let your tweets turn out like this:

“Any jobs available in marketing? I’ll take anything.”

or

“Just ate dinner and I am full.”

Don’t forget that you are in a public forum, and new connections or hiring managers may be comparing your credentials for an opportunity.

Invite people to follow you by promoting your Twitter address. For example: in your email signature or blog articles. Utilize the Find People link at the top of Twitter pages. Use the tabs to search other networks, send invitations, and maybe join some groups.
