OLLI Book Talks: City of a Million Dreams

OLLI BOOK TALKS: City of a Million Dreams: A History of New Orleans at Year 300
SE 70

Beyond its ancient streets, jazz and Carnival masks lies a richer, more textured New Orleans than anyone imagined. The author will spotlight the tension between a culture of spectacle, rooted in African burial dances, and a city of laws anchored in white supremacy. Berry will show clips of his film on New Orleans as well as advancing a narrative of real-life characters that built New Orleans. His book will be available to purchase.
