“Contemporary art is art of our time”. The founder’s words best describe the dynamic and exciting works at the Broad Museum in Los Angeles. Known world-wide as a leading collection of post-war art, it features a huge array of works from renowned artists influential in their field. Included are Cindy Sherman, Jeff Koons and iconic Yayou Kusama who were discussed in Jackie Powell’s OLLI class “Introduction to Contemporary Art”. See up close the latter’s dazzling Infinity Mirrors-rooms mirrored entirely on all sides with constantly moving LED lights suspended from the ceiling.

Location: Bus departs Irvine Station at 9:45 AM. Please arrive at 9:30 AM.

Note: Special Events are open to both members and non-members! However, only current OLLI members are able to enroll in a Special Event online. If you are not a current OLLI member but would like to enroll in a Special Event, please call the Student Affairs & Student Services office at (949) 824-5414 and they will assist you with enrollment over the phone. Their hours are Monday through Thursday, 9:00am – 4:00pm.
