2022 MID-TERM ELECTIONS RECAP

This course will examine the results of the 2022 elections with a particular focus on U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representative, and gubernatorial races. We will discuss how each of the parties and major candidates positioned themselves in the 2022 races and structured their campaign messages. We will assess how different parts of the electorate shaped outcomes, and how legal changes in voting and election law shaped rates of electoral participation. The course will conclude with a discussion of the implications of the outcomes of the 2022 election for the 2024 election.
