How does the system work as viewed by judges? How do they handle the complexities of divorce cases such as child support, domestic violence, the rights of grandparents with regard to grandchildren, or issues of elder law? What should someone do if they are involved in a family law case?

Presenter: The Hon. Barry S. Michaelson,
a graduate of the UC Berkeley’s Boalt Hall School of Law. He practiced family law and related specialties until 2001 when he was assigned to the Family Law Court. As an Orange County Superior Court Commissioner, he serves as a judge on cases of criminal domestic violence.
