Regenerative medicine uses tissue engineering, cellular therapies, and medical devices to replace organ tissue damaged by disease, trauma, or congenital issues. In so doing it addresses the root cause of the problem instead of the clinical symptoms. Functional regeneration treatment options will be discussed for non-surgical sports and spine orthopedics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and pain management. Specific examples include ligament injuries, whiplash, and hypermobility.
