Keytruda! Opdivo! TV ads for brand name-drugs with lifesaving potential for various cancers. Unlike chemo- and radiation therapies, these “biologic” drugs boost the patient’s own immune system to target cancerous tissue without destroying healthy tissue as well. But a UCI-led study finds that a certain group of biologics may self-limit their efficacy.
