BRUSH UP YOUR SHAKESPEARE

BRUSH UP YOUR SHAKESPEARE
AH 105

Even after 400 years, the Bard of Avon still has a lot to say to us. But sometimes, it’s not that easy to understand what he is saying! In this interactive class, we will do a ‘deep dive’ into two Shakespeare plays, Richard III and Romeo and Juliet. We will read the plays aloud in sections, and then discuss and analyze the themes, plot, and language with the help of Professor Julia Lupton or one of her Ph.D. candidates in Shakespearean studies at UCI.

NOTE: Required text: The Folger Shakespeare Library Edition, latest edition.
Enrollment is limited to 20 registered participants.
