“What’s in the brain that ink may character / Which hath not figured to thee my true spirit?” Thus, Shakespeare tempts us to find him — the man — in his sonnets, and we will look for him in the following sessions:

April 5: We survey the history of the sonnet, examine its different structures, and identify what makes Shakespeare’s sonnets extraordinary.

April 19: We let the sonnets and some special interpreters amuse us.
