UCI: THE FIRST 50 YEARS AND BEYOND

AH 114 UCI: the First 50 Years and Beyond
FORMAT B/C

Have you driven onto the UC Irvine campus and said, “What on earth! What new is happening now?” This class answers your questions.

An array of architectural staples, diverse landscaping, and outstanding academic programs have made UCI one of the top universities in the country. Learn how the designers created the still-evolving Master Plan. Starting with the initial campus development of its buildings and infrastructure and moving through the decades, addressing the diverse architecture of the 80s, the cohesive architecture of the late 90s, the environmentally friendly architecture of the current era, and concluding with the amazing explosion of the campus as we see it today.

Presenters: Meredith Cheston worked in UCI’s Department of Design and Construction as Contracts Manager for most of her 28 years there.
Janet Mason is Assistant Vice Chancellor, Capital Planning and Space Management, at UC Irvine.
