BRUSH UP YOUR SHAKESPEARE

AH 104 Brush Up Your Shakespeare
FORMAT A

2023 marks the 400th Anniversary of the publication of Shakespeare’s First Folio, the book containing plays performed by his company. Immerse yourself in the characters, setting, and historical context as we read aloud as a group. Participants will be pre-assigned character roles prior to each session. The two plays chosen will be the plays that will be performed during The New Swan Shakespeare Festival 2023 season. Participants will use the Folger edition of the plays, due to the explanatory notes on unfamiliar language, old English words, and historical/political context.
