Continuing the Saga
SS 301
After Pertinax had been murdered, the Romans chose the Grim Phoenician, Septimus Severus, the military commander in Pannonia, who was proclaimed emperor in August of 193 A.D. He defeated the Persians and looted their capital. After moving on to his native Africa, he rebuilt the major cities on a scale that can still be seen today, then added most of Scotland to the Roman Empire before dying in 211 A.D.
Presenter: Judge Luis Cardenas, a popular OLLI presenter, shares his extensive knowledge of Ancient Rome in a personalized, exciting forum. He has been mediating and arbitrating for more than 20 years.
