Why have relations between US, Russia and China become so problematic in recent years even as Russo-Chinese relations have greatly improved, posing a challenge to the US? The lectures will explore the roots of these developments from the perspective of the three states and their goals.

Presenter: Thomas Bernstein,
Professor emeritus, Columbia University. A member of the Political Science Department, he served as Chair from l986 to 1989 and 1991 to l994. He taught courses on Chinese politics, comparative communist systems, and rural politics.
