THE CAESARS MIGHT AND MADNESS: Constantine the Great

Constantine’s father became the Western Roman emperor in 305 A.D. but died the next year. Constantine was hailed as emperor by the troops under his father’s command, generating a civil war. In 324 A.D. Constantine defeated the emperor of the Eastern Empire, and the Roman Empire was once again ruled by one man. On his death bed he was baptized as a Christian and buried in Constantinople.
