WHAT THE DICKENS?

WHAT THE DICKENS?
Exploring the Life and Work of Charles Dickens
AH 112

There are few authors in the English language more beloved than Charles Dickens. Even people who've never cracked open a Dickens novel are familiar with characters such as Ebenezer Scrooge and Oliver Twist. Dickens was a celebrity in his own time, in part because of his novels, but also because of his work as an editor, journalist, and actor. This lecture will explore the many different lives of Charles Dickens, as well as his enduring legacy, and will include a short dramatic reading of David Copperfield.
