Studies for Infant and Toddler Caregivers

This course is specifically designed to meet Title 22 (CA State Licensing requirements) for those who care for infants and toddlers either at home or in a group setting. It provides an overview of infant and toddler development, and how to apply these concepts to a variety of infant-toddler activities, curriculum and care giving and considerations. The philosophy of this course is based on caregiver qualities of respect for the individual child and their growing independence and abilities and provides a breadth of information to assist the adult in their guidance of the ongoing and rapid development of this age group. Philosophies of care giving include RIE and Montessori as well as other traditional research based approaches. Considerations in designing and selecting a quality infant toddler care and learning environment also makes this course an excellent resource course for parents or expectant parents.
