Course Description
Structuring the knowledge and expertise to conduct a clinical trial is instrumental in establishing your project plan. Learn how to apply project management principles to the implementation and evaluation of clinical trials. Gain an overview of fundamental project management concepts and methods, and then learn how to apply those concepts and methods to the unique characteristics of a clinical trial. Topics include organizing and planning the project, recruiting participants, and analyzing the results.
Prerequisite: BIOSCI X450 Fundamentals of Clinical Trials, or equivalent experience.
Instructor
Takisha has over 15 years of experience in clinical research. Takisha began her career in clinical research as a study coordinator for an academic medical center, followed by working for a cancer program consulting group. She continued her career path in clinical research working as a CRA, Project Manager, Site Manager and currently as a Director for a Phase I Clinical Research Unit. She has a passion for the development and mentoring of study coordinators, CRAs and clinical project managers. She has published in the areas of Advanced Site Management and is a sought after speaker in the United States. Takisha received her certification as a Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) through the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA) and remains active presenting at the Annual Education Conference. Students will gain lessons learned from the various clinical trial projects she has managed through the teaching she delivers.
