An emphasis on using data to guide instructional practice and promote student achievement. Students will access their own school data to make instructional and curriculum decisions for improving student achievement. Various data sources will be examined to support the development of a data driven culture. Students will be studying a continuous improvement model to undertake a data analysis and identify equity gap/s, root causes, problem statements resulting in planning for school improvement.
Please note you must be admitted to the Preliminary Administrative Services Credential program prior to enrolling in this course.
EDUC X393.71 Focus on Student Achievement must be completed prior to or concurrently with EDUC X393.9 Curriculum Design and Management.

William Loose, Ed.D., has 38 years experience in public school education and administration. He worked as a superintendent and assistant superintendent for Ocean View School District, La Canada Unified School District, and Garvey School District. He worked as a Director of Certificated and Classified Personnel for South Pasadena Unified School District. For Montebello Unified School District he worked as an administrator on special assignment, assistant principal, program administrator, and teacher. Since 2001, Dr. Loose has taught both as an adjunct and full-time professor at the university level for educational administration, credential, and field work programs.
