Examines the role of Accounting Information Systems and their integration into enterprise/business wide information resource systems. Interaction between accountants and information technology will be addressed. The design, implementation, use, roles, and management of these systems will be discussed.
Early registration recommended. You may access your online course on the first day of class by 12pm (noon) Pacific Standard Time. This online course may include webinars using an online conferencing tool called Zoom. All webinars will be recorded and posted on the course website for those who cannot participate in the live sessions. This course cannot be transferred to a UCI economics major. The required textbook , "Accounting Information Systems" 15th edition can be purchased as eText or Print through the publisher’s website https://www.pearsonhighered.com/. The instructor is NOT currently using REVEL.
Oliver C. Hsu, MBA, CPA, is the manager of IT - Windows Systems for the County of Los Angeles. He has been working in the information technology field for the past 25 years as a lead project manager, Oracle Database Administrator (DBA), and manager in charge of Network Security, DBA & Systems. His expertise includes database management, system design, project management, and network security. He has taught various accounting courses at East Los Angeles College for more than 15 years.
