Introduction to the Internet of Things (IoT)

This course provides an overview of the exciting world of the IoT in which we are surrounded by smart connected devices and intuitive interfaces to the digital world. It explores IoT devices, communication technologies, use cases, and specific IoT applications. It considers how the IoT is used to increase productivity and effectiveness in uses such as smart manufacturing, predictive maintenance, remote assistance, smart cities, smart agriculture, and healthcare. It introduces data analytics, machine learning, augmented reality, and other topics that are important for the IoT and its applications. It introduces the features of cloud based IoT platforms such as Amazon AWS IoT, Microsoft Azure IoT, and ThingSpeak. It considers how emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and 5G wireless connectivity are being used to create innovative IoT solutions
