Search Engine Optimization

Internet-based marketing activities are supplanting traditional marketing techniques. Search engines are the means whereby prospective customers find vendors. Consequently, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) provides a means to maximize web site traffic. SEO a multi-faceted strategy and should be an integral part of any marketing plan. Keyword/phrase selection and web site content design will be discussed. Students will learn to measure the web site ranking before/after SEO implementation. The three main search engines (Google/Yahoo/Bing) will be addressed. 'Pay-per-click' campaigns and ad optimization issues will be discussed. E-mail marketing campaign, E-commerce strategy and Social Media optimization strategies will also be explained. Becoming certified proves to your employer, clients, and colleagues that you have the industry-recognized credentials and the expertise to perform at a specialized level as an SEO professional. Students who take the class are qualified to take the Certification Exam available through the Orange County Search Engine Academy www.orangecountysearchengineacademy.com. Prerequisites: Familiarity with the Web search engines. Knowledge of web site development process. HTML, ASP.NET, PHP, Databases.
