The Health Care Analytics specialized studies program provides training for a wide range of job opportunities in the health care industry and related fields. Combining skills in analytics and research, professionals in this industry can collect, organize, and visualize data to improve patient outcomes and the operational efficiency of health care systems.

The driving forces behind the growth of this practice are dramatic improvements in the ease-of-use of analytical and data collection tools and the exponential increase in the systematic collection of Big Data sets. The political and economic landscape has also provided fundamental and powerful financial motivations for the health care industry to utilize data to become more efficient and drive positive change in the industry.

Learn How To Earn Your CertificateSpecialized Studies Award Requirements

A specialized studies certificate is awarded upon completion of any 4 courses (8 credit units) with a grade of “C” or better in each course. To receive the certificate after completing all program requirements, students must submit a Request for Certificate. All requirements must be completed within 5 years after the student enrolls in his/her first course. Students not pursuing a specialized studies award are welcome to take as many individual courses as they wish.

English Proficiency Requirement
All certificate programs at UCI Division of Continuing Education (classroom and online formats) require professional-level English language proficiency in listening and note-taking, reading comprehension and vocabulary, written expression, and oral presentation.
